Prime Appliance Repair got a call about a faulty Bertazzoni PRO486GDFSX range in south Charlotte. The smaller right oven and the cooktop burners still operated, but the left oven would not heat, and its indicator light stayed off.

The homeowner reported that the failure followed a power surge. During diagnosis, we found a burned circuit-board trace and identified this as the cause of the fault. After replacing the board, the left oven began operating again.

Diagnosis: Checking The Range’s Heating Elements, Fuses and Control Board

Our first step was to remove the rear access panel, allowing us to check the heating elements and fuses. Those components passed our tests, so we continued inspecting the controls.

After removing the control board and turning it over, we found visible damage on its underside. A trace had burned through near a connector. The close-up photograph from the repair shows the damaged area.

We also inspected the surrounding connections and wiring.

On this first visit, we diagnosed the fault, confirmed that the control board was the only component needing replacement, and identified the replacement part needed for this Bertazzoni range model.

Repair: Replacing the Range’s Damaged Control Board

On our return visit, we installed the new board and reassembled the appliance.

Next, we checked that the left oven’s controls and indicator were responding correctly again after the replacement. Then it was time to put the oven through its paces and ensure it was heating.

Testing the Oven After Repair

We tested every oven mode, and they all operated correctly. To confirm the oven was heating as it should, we set it to 350°F and used an infrared thermometer, which confirmed that the left oven was hitting the desired temperature.

Bertazzoni Oven Repair in Charlotte

When your range develops a fault, tell us which section has failed when you call. Mention whether its indicator lights still respond, and whether the problem followed an electrical interruption. If one oven stops working while the other oven and cooktop still operate, that helps us narrow down the diagnosis. Providing the complete model number when you arrange your service visit can help us identify the replacement components for your particular range. If you’re unsure, a photograph of any visible label is useful.
